The Kia cars are set to roll out from the Kia manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh. Kia has invested USD 1.1 billion on Indian plant and is expected to give direct employment to 3,000 people.

As per another report(www.carwale.com) Kia ‘s Indian journey is starting with the production version of the Kia SP2 Concept and is planning to launch a new model every six months including a premium hatchback, a compact SUV in the first phase. The SP2 is a Hyundai Creta/Renault Duster competitor and the projected price range of this car would be between Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 16 lakhs.

Rush Lane says - Kia sedan is offered in three trims – LX, S and EX. In European markets, the Kia sedan will have a 1.6 liter GDI engine but in India, however, the Kia Rio sedan will borrow the same engine set up as seen on the Verna sedan.

Time to ride the phenomenon called “Jeep”

For many years, the mean machine named “Jeep” symbolizes adrenalin-pumped driving on rough terrain, adventures and passion. Jeep’s journey is a beguiling story of evolution through decades and transformation. With Jeep Compass getting launched in India, all the devotees of off-road driving are up for a fantastic ride up the memory lane.

This is the tough 4X4 Willys MB which started a revolution in the use of small military motor vehicles in the US Army. This little beast ruled between 1941 and 1945.

A decade after, in order to address the complaint of earlier CJ-version owners for more space, Willys came up with an improved CJ-6 with a longer wheelbase, improved comfort and better performance. CJ versions of Jeep ran from 1955 to 1981.

In 1962, Jeep introduced the Wagoneer, the very first 4X4 luxury segment SUV. The Wagoneer was a kingly vehicle which burnt the roads between 1963 and 1991 and was designed to mix the comfort of passenger-car with the sturdiness of four-wheel drive.

In the 1970s, came the CJ-5 RENEGADE featuring 304 cubic inch (5L), V8 engine. The vehicle wore alloy wheels and a Trac-Lok limited slip real differential.

In the 1980s what we had was CHEROKEE, a compact SUV. The all new XJ series of CHEROKEE made its debut in 1984 and was awarded the “4X4 of the year’ by the best of the off-road magazines.

Moving forward, in 1999, the new grand CHEROKEE was launched as “The most capable Sports Utility Ever” and won many 4x4 award competitions. The revised WJ wore a completely revised design and featured better specs for a full-bodied driving experience.

The Wrangler Rubicon was the most capable vehicle in Jeep’s documented history. It was named after the legendary off-road trail in California and was meant for those hard-core off-road fanatics. It ran through 2003 and 2006.

Here, we are now standing with the absolutely gorgeous Jeep COMPASS. Jeep officially entered Indian market last year with the launch of the iconic Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee. Now the all-new Jeep Compass, a mid-size SUV gets launched in India. This is possibly the most anticipated car of 2017.

The compact SUV will be Jeep’s first made in India model and one of the most affordable offerings coming from Jeep. The production unit is located at Ranjangaon near Pune. Jeep’s parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has invested almost Rs 1800 crore in this project. Jeep Compass will also be exported to other right-handed drive countries from this facility.

Jeep Compass offers both petrol and diesel engine choice, a 1.4-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel motor.

The Compass will be available in three trims - Sport, Longitude and the Limited. There will be five color variants named Grey, Exotica Red, Hydro Blue, Vocal White and Hip Hop Black. Jeep Compass is priced in the band of 14.95-20.65 lakhs (on-road price, New Delhi).
